Session A-1: SDGs: Strategic Challenges for UN Global Compact and for PRME

After almost ten years of PRME existence and based on the new SDGs, the PRME community has undertaken a major effort in 2015/16 to rethink and to reformulate its mission and strategy. The PRME Secretariat was at the center of this process and Jonas Haertle will describe the process as well as the major results. One of these results is that cooperation with companies has to be reinforced, especially those organized in the UN Global Compact and active in GC Local Networks. Rudi Kurz will focus on this part of PRME strategy and report on ideas and projects for more intensive interaction. Based on experience from Switzerland and the DACH Chapter, Lutz Schlange will analyze the role of regional chapters and how they can support SDG implementation. As outcomes of the session, participants will have a clear understanding of PRME strategy and ideas how to support this strategy.
